Fall decor trends come and go. And this Fall it is time to refresh what we have been doing for many years.

What that means is, there is a certain fall decor trend has been popular for many years, and now, is out of date.

I’ve been holding this in for a long time, and for the first time, I am sharing what EVERYONE is decorating with this fall that I think is out of date. 

I see it ALL THE TIME.

Overly Rustic Farmhouse

• The ultra-rustic farmhouse look (think distressed wood, galvanized metal, and too many farmhouse signs) is taking a backseat. We’re moving towards a more refined, modern rustic vibe—cleaner lines, less clutter, and a touch of elegance.

Traditional Orange Overload

• We all love a classic fall orange, but using it everywhere is starting to feel a bit tired. This year, people are swapping it out for muted tones, earthy greens, soft neutrals, and even some unexpected colors like pinks and blues.

Cheesy Signage

• The “Pumpkin Spice Everything” and “Hello Fall” signs were fun, but they’ve officially overstayed their welcome. We’re seeing a shift to more minimalistic decor with a focus on natural elements and less on the word art.

Instead, try this:

Warm Neutrals and Earthy Tones

• Choose soft beiges, tans, creamy whites, terracotta, and warm browns to create a cozy, inviting vibe for fall. Pair these colors with natural wood and greenery, and add a pop of muted jewel tones like deep greens or burnt sienna for extra fun!

Natural Elements

• Bring the outside in by using pampas grass, dried wheat, eucalyptus, and fall branches. These elements add gorgeous texture and freshness, making them perfect for vases, wreaths, or table settings.

Amber Glass and Brass Accents

• Use vintage-inspired amber glass and brass accents to add warmth and a touch of glam. These pieces reflect light beautifully, giving your decor a lovely vintage yet timeless feel.
