If you’re anything like me, you love scrolling through Pinterest for the latest and greatest in home decor inspiration. Well, I’ve been doing a little digging, and I found a fun, crazy section I had never seen called 2024 Emerging Design Trends. It’s not the CURRENT trends, but what they think will be 2024 new trends based on what the audience is searching.
I found it fascinating and I want to see what you think!
Here are a few of my favorite 2024 new Design Trends that are predicted right now.

Pinterest says:: “They say the party always moves to the kitchen. But sometimes, the party is the kitchen. This year, Gen X and Boomers will quirk up their cooking areas with thrifted finds, vintage appliances and eye-jarring pops of paint. No minimalist aesthetic is safe.“
My take: I love color and vintage decor, so this sounds like it could be really interesting.

Aluminum furniture +45%
Pinterest says: “Cool silver tones and bold chrome—so hot right now. Melty metallics will make their way into the mainstream in 2024 as people trade in their trusty neutrals for something a bit more hardcore. Gen Z and Millennials are driving this heavy metal aesthetic.“

Pinterest says: “Bar carts, be gone. In 2024, at-home coffee stations will become the new way to espresso yourself. Boomers and Gen X will bring the coffee shop vibe inside, searching for everything from “cafe chalkboard” aesthetic and “coffee station decor” to “coffee bar styling.” Your go-to cuppa just got a serious upgrade.“
My take: I love a well designed coffee shop, so to bring that look home seems like a cool new idea!

Pinterest says: “It’s time to trade up the fish bowl. This year, Gen X and Millennials will become undersea gardeners and go all in on “small aquarium designs” and over-the-top “turtle terrariums.” In 2024, aquatic architecture will be the hot new way to style a home. Your guppies will be living large.“
My take: Hm. Not sure what to say about this. Maybe because I don’t have a fish. Nor do I want to have a fish. haha. But seems like a fun new idea!

My take: Not home design related, but Just because I LOVE this concept…I could get into this. A younger man dressed like a cute preppy grandpa? Swoon. Be still my J Crew heart. hahah.
Pinterest says: “2024 style inspo? Your grandpa. In 2024, Gen Z and Boomers will embrace grandpacore and bring eccentric and expressive elements for the ages to their wardrobes. Think retro streetwear, chic cardigans and customized clothing. Because the coastal grandma aesthetic is so last year.“
So, there you have it!
These are just a few of the interesting trends popping up on Pinterest right now.
Whether you’re looking to make a big crazy statement or just add a few new touches — or a turtle!?…. it looks like there’s something for everyone.
Which one would you embrace?
xoxo, Courtney
