Did you catch my posts on this Plano home’s restyle from dark and traditional to light and transitional? See the living room and master bedroom redo’s here and here. Now I can’t wait to show you what my team and I did in the playroom/bedroom these savvy grandparents created for their pint-sized guests. Did I mention: I love doing playrooms!
If this bedroom/playroom doesn’t say “Love y’all!” I don’t know what does! From the perky blue and yellow gender neutral color scheme to the sweet window seat, we designed this space to welcome in the little folks for play. The pullout sofa bed is the perfect solution to free up more play space while retaining the bed option for sleepovers.
When the owners saw the navy blue ceiling, they were all about it! (She loves navy blue. That helped.) And it really sets off the new wood bead light fixture to replace the other, um, what some may call “boob light”–but we’re keeping this blog rated G. The blue with the crisp white paint job gives a wonderfully fresh effect. It’s such a cheery room for their grandsons and granddaughters!
I know you’re dying to see the before. Here’s what we started with.
These devoted parents are hosting their daughter and her family while a new house is being built. They definitely needed a spot for the kids to call their own. The window seat provides toy storage…
…and the refreshed dresser does, as well! (Tip: repurpose some existing pieces with new finishes. Save the money for the new things you need, like a punchy rug to amp up your neutral carpet.) And don’t you just love the big graphic prints flanking the dresser?
My team and I had a ton of fun pulling this room together!
Sometimes you need to repurpose a room for a new phase of life. I would love to help you with that! Let’s talk!
