Every designer I know has a material they get excited about.
Y’all, I LOVE tile.
For me, tile is the best way to bring personality and pizzazz to a room. And every time I need an amazing tile, I go to one place over and over again.
I was reminded of this love for tile when we took this drab kitchen and totally updated its looks with some really beautiful kitchen tile. It has so much personality, as you can see!
Look at this difference. Ah-maz-ing.
We found this beauty at Floor and Decor. And at such a fair price!
When I need something for flooring, Floor and Decor is one of my first stops. Let me tell you why in two words –
1. Price
2. Selection
Floor and Decor is my secret weapon.
I found these beautiful and affordable tile selections at the new Floor and Decor Design Studio in Dallas!
The Design Studio is a new concept and is different than their typical stores. It is set up like a showroom – a designer’s dream! However, any of the tiles found here are found in their other big box locations.
This past weekend I was there because I am building a custom home, so I am gathering my ideas. I was thinking about doing subway tile – because let’s face it- subway tile is so beautiful and so classic. However, I kept seeing this tile that caught my eye and I kept going back to it. Even though I LOVE subway tile for me when I see this edgy black picket tile, my heart skips a beat.
What do you think of this?

What I love about this is that I get to go shop at really high-end places to source the best tile. Then I end up finding the same selection at Floor and Decor for a quarter of the price.
Seriously, y’all.
Floor and Decor always has amazing tile on clearance, you never know what you can snag! I literally found the last of this amazing tile on clearance for $7 a sq foot and am now using it for my master bath!
This is Carrera MARBLE.
MARBLE.
(Want to see the finished product of this installed? Be sure to follow on my Instagram page because I will definitely be posting this beauty all day long once it is installed.)
Did we hear that??!! Yes – I said $7 a square foot. That is like 7 one-dollar bills.
(Who is on the one-dollar bill, again? I can’t remember, but all you need is seven of them for this marble stunner.) Although this tile is not available anymore, I linked a similar style!
This is easily a tiny fraction of where I would find this tile elsewhere.
Do you know what I am going to do with my pile of money I just saved?
Buy more tile.
What colors of tile should I use?
Loving these colors.
And this bold white and grey backsplash.
And this amazing reclaimed wood. I envision this on my fireplace.
Because when you are saving money, you can splurge on something really fantastic, maybe like this…
Which is actually still SO affordable!!
