Today, let’s talk about LIGHTING! News flash: lighting choices can make or break the design and the mood of your room. I’d love to share some of the lighting options my clients and I have chosen. See if you don’t love them, too!
Eclectic Sputnik Light, Dallas Texas
Passion for Mid Mod design is not going away anytime soon, and my client’s hip motorcycle-themed loft (with its two-story mural!) was the perfect place to inject that icon of midcentury modern design, the Sputnik light. Pendant, I love ya to the moon and back!
Lofty ceilings and rustic wooden beams
Speaking of striking pendants, these Moravian stars are contenders for my top lighting loves of all time. Their size and dramatic shape hold their own against the drama of the black ceiling and grand space of my client’s Texas ranch home.

Then again, it’s hard to have favorites when you see these wooden box pendants that bridge the gap from rustic to modern so beautifully and effortlessly.
(Psst, are you yearning for one of these patterned tile backsplashes? I can help you with that!)
Teen boho bedroom
The thing about the classics, y’all–they just keep showing up and doing the job! This antique brass and crystal beauty was the real stylemaker in this glitz-and-glam bedroom redo, tying together the repeating brass accents. See the whole room

Farmhouse Cozy Living Room
Matte black is everywhere in design accessories these days. My client’s redesigned living room begged for the simple stylishness of this black Edison-bulb chandelier. We knew it was right when we saw how it echoed the black touches in furniture, banisters, accessories, and the pendants over the kitchen sink.
AND– just so you don’t think pendants do ALL the heavy lifting in lighting tasks, there are incredible style options in lamps, too, from transitional to steampunk!

Marquee Lettering Light
P.S. Don’t forget task lighting! I am seriously in love with my burnished brass crookneck bathroom wall sconces. Even a humble farmhouse bathroom can benefit from the daring duo of black and brass!
