There is no better time to refresh your home as we start the blank slate of a new year.
As we prepare for 2024, here are some of my favorite home decor trends that will make your friends say “We want to go to your house!”
No project is too big, for those with an urge to remodel a house or just give it a little refreshing.
What are latest interior design trends?
1. Let’s get smarter about our smart home options..
I love a love AND hate relationship with technology. On one hand, I love when Alexa answers my questions, and on the other, I don’t like when she just keeps talking to me. hahah.
But, like it or not, technology is only getting more intuitive in 2024.We’re talking automation here that takes care of everything from lighting to heating and air-conditioning, at the flick of a switch or……pressing an iPhone app! It’s crazy living in the future, isn’t it?
2. BIOPHILIC DESIGN: What is it?
Biophilic design sounds like a chemistry class I took in college, but it is actually a popular interior design trend for both 2024 and 2025, bringing the great outdoors indoor to your living area…
And when you put it THAT way, it DOES sound dreamy!
Imagine yourself surrounded by all those wonderful house-plants, living walls which make you feel as if you are living in some peaceful paradise even if your neighbor lives 30 feet away.
3.CASUAL LUXURY
Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too? In 2024, we’re all about casual luxury. It’s like wearing your Sunday best and still feeling as comfortable as a pair of worn jeans.
Think luxurious velvets paired with rustic wood or statement pieces mixed with casual elements.
The goal is to create luxury but also convey the message: “Hey, come in and put your feet up!”– a beautiful house you can truly live in.
4. MINIMALISM + WARMTH
In 2024, clean, uncluttered spaces will still be popular but with added warmth. Cozy, neutral colors will hug you in a comforting embrace, while natural materials like wood and stone will add accents to the earthy hues.
5. ARTISANAL AND HANDCRAFTED PIECES
This trend moves away from the mass production of goods and instead embraces carefully crafted items that showcase individual preferences. Handcrafted ceramics, bespoke furniture and stunning artwork will take center stage for shopping small and local and supporting local artists.
