In Part 1, I showed you some ways to:
1. Clear clutter with creative storage.
2. Vary lighting.
3. Group decor in odd numbers.
4. Add a mirror.
5. Add a rug.
Now here are five more tips to help you decorate like a designer!
6. Group your collection
While decorative pieces and collections spread here and there can make a room look cluttered, similar items displayed together make a statement. Keep it simple and cohesive.
7. Add color
Use bright pillows, throws, frames–or maybe a painted or wallpapered wall–to inject pops of color. Create interest!
8. Add curtains
Curtains soften and complete a room. Even if you have plantation shutters or blinds, use curtains. They are like the icing on the cake!
9. Hang curtains at or near the ceiling
You will add height to your space and make it appear less choppy.
10. Mix Patterns
Don’t be afraid to mix patterns. Just keep colors similar and vary the scale of the patterns. Keep it simple if you are new to mixing.
