There are a lot of reasons I love shopping second hand.
The first one is that I find things I cannot find new in stores.
People sell the coolest stuff and the thrill of the hunt is irresistible.
Another reason is you can get aforementioned cool stuff but stay on your budget.
I always say you don’t have to spend a lot to have a beautiful home, and shopping secondhand is one way I do that.
This board starts with a beautiful frame. Replace the glass and recover teh back with cork and fabric, and suddenly you have a classy DIY bulletin board.

Supplies: Mirrored frame
I had an uncle that had over 400 ties.
Truly.
When he passed last year, we were all so sad. And my aunt gave away a tie to everyone at the funeral, and still had hundreds to donate.
When I saw this chair, I instantly thought how fun it would be to have some of his ties to create this.
This chair is pretty quirky, and depending on the base it could work on a porch or a game room. It’s a definite conversation piece.
I was a kid in the 80’s and that’s when big jewelry reigned. (Side note, does anyone remember twister beads?)
Looking at each piece is like walking down memory lane. I remember when I bought them or where I wore them.
I love the idea to re-use the best ones in some sort of art creation. Hot glue, a frame and fabric make this a super easy project.
Chunky gold frame. I display it on this cool photo easel
