A Houston-based poet said, “Fall comes to Texas by a wrong turn and a bit of luck.” It’s true that we don’t often see the dramatic seasonal changes that other parts of the country do. But what we DO get, we REALLY appreciate!
And while we wait (and wait) for fall OUTSIDE, we like to bring some fun fall decor INSIDE!
What says fall more than pumpkins? They might be straight from the pumpkin patch–or maybe not.
On and around my mantel I used a combination of glazed ceramic pumpkins,
wood pumpkins,
burlap pumpkins,
gingham pumpkins,
tin pumpkins,
chenille pumpkins–
and even some tiny real ghost pumpkins.
I think the mix of materials adds a ton of interest and texture. Speaking of texture, now’s the time to pull out the cozy throws and drape them over a chair or sofa back. When the weather turns cool enough, we’ll enjoy USING them. Until then we’ll just enjoy how great they look in our fall-themed rooms!
