My son loves sports so naturally he wanted a sports inspired room and I wanted a room that worked well the farmhouse style I love. So here is what we came up with.

Highlights in decor:

-Vintage sports=flags and pennants!  They can be hung almost anywhere in a room to add color and dimension to your space.

-Along with flags I used vintage items such as: an old score board, lockers, a old jersey and a street sign. These tell a story and bring a unique touch to the space and also score for team farmhouse!

-Red adds a pop of color to this room. Again I used a striped gray pattern in the bedding which works as a backdrop to the quilts and pillows.

-To personalize my son’s room I created a gallery wall above shelves that both display my son’s initials, his favorite number, old baseballs, ribbons and pictures. I also added personal touches throughout with more pictures and awards.

-Creating space in this room was easy because I was able to use shelves and lockers in addition to a side table and a chest of drawers. Remember storage doesn’t have to be locked away in closet or behind a cabinet door. It can very well be re-purposed wood or old lockers that were once junk, now on display for all to see.

This room is one of my favorites because it features my son’s inspiration with my style. Together we make a pretty good combination! Check back tomorrow as we travel to an important, often overlooked room, the bathroom! Your bathroom doesn’t have to look like it’s seen better days!
