Photo day:
This was really fun. I had a talented friend curl my hair before everyone arrived at 9. We got some fun shots of me carrying a baker of flowers walking inside, which is the funniest, most unrealistic thought! Usually I am juggling groceries and kids, not just a basket of flowers. But this is not reality- it’s a magazine! I had to walk back and forth through the front door a dozen times, slowly, with a pleasant smile, without tripping. That’s a tall order.
Then the editor suggested I change into jeans. (This freaked me out. I thought we weren’t doing jeans! I didn’t plan jeans!! I need a plan!!) Thankfully I did have a backup outfit, so I threw it together and sat in my rocking chair on my porch. I made the photographer laugh which was my goal for the day. Check!
which was next we brought the kids in. It wasn’t as crazy as I thought and we got some great shots of smiles. They made me so proud.
We finished styling and shooting the other rooms. Once the kids were done, everything else was easy!
At the end of the day, my house looked like a tornado came through town.
Nothing was in the right place- whole bookcases were emptied and in other rooms.
There were flowers everywhere, my laundry room was the full of furniture we had to move, and I was exhausted in the best way. Who knew this was so much work!?
So much goes into these beautiful photos- I have a new found respect for magazines and what an art they are! I am so humbled to get to be a part and can’t wait for it to come out!
