Harvest time decor brings to mind colorful gourds and multicolored corn, but there’s more to it than that: out on the plains of west Texas from October to December, huge harvesters are busy day and night bringing in–cotton! Besides the cotton we wear and make cute pillows with, now we’re seeing cotton boll stalks as a beautiful, natural decorating material!

Create an informal arrangement of cotton boll stalks in a crock, tin, or mason jar. How simple is that? And how pretty!

Paired with burlap, barn wood, or baskets, cotton bolls are everywhere in rustic and farmhouse decor.

Cotton bolls are organic, neutral and inexpensive. Just a few or a bunch–it’s up to you how to use them.
