The dining room, a place for good food and fellowship, is the heart of any gathering. And FOOD. I mean, let’s just agree that we all want to EAT!!!
So I needed my new dining room to be comfortable for guests. I also wanted a fresh, light, airy feel . I created that atmosphere using light gray and white. By adding wood elements to the mix I added definition to the space.
Highlights in decor:
-I used white open bracket shelving to display my white dishes. I am OVER having all my pretty dishes tucked away in boxes. This was my solution.
I have glass dishes displayed in the room as well. Although I decorated with many dishes, they are not overwhelming because of the color of the dishes-clear and white.
-I accented the dining room with silver. I have candle sticks, pedestals, lamps, trays, and other decor all in silver that add a bit of shine against the neutral colors of the room. I guess you could call it, Farmhouse Glam! Is that a thang?
-The
galvanized chairs I chose for this room are opposite the
farmhouse glam decor, yet both are consistent with the farmhouse style I love.
-The vintage chandelier and side tables are unique elements in the room. They are unique and draw the eye. The light fixture was a vintage bucket that we made into a light!
-In case you didn’t know, I love to incorporate stripes in my decor. LOL! I mean, can you tell??!! So for this room I added curtains with large gray stripes.
-The centerpiece of the dining table is a set of three. I decorated the base of two of the pieces with artificial plants giving this room an organic element.
I hope you enjoyed this dining room. Check back soon as we step into the bathroom to see how I made this often overlooked space look farmhouse fabulous!
