Highlights in decor:
-The rock bricked wall that was inspirational to the living room’s color was also the inspiration for this space. The wall works well with neutral, blues and woods, so naturally I carried those elements from the living room into this space. The homeowners like a rustic look, so I carried it through!
-The dining space called for a large dining table so that is exactly what we added. It has clean lines with dining chairs that are both dark and light adding some contrast that this space needed.
-I wanted a WOW factor to draw your eye to that amazing stone wall. I added a mirrored wooden arch as the focal point to the room. It is interesting and beautiful and makes a statement.
-The buffet has a distressed look that is in sharp contrast to the clean lines of this space. It works well because it is not too distressed and is done in a neutral color. And adds tons of storage, which is always in shortage in my house!!
-I decorated the distressed buffet with blue candle sticks on both sides of the mirrored arch. They bring balance to the buffet and mirror.
-The centerpieces for the dining table are shiny and beautiful. I wanted something they could leave on the table all the time, but also something that could be causal or formal. Mercury glass to the rescue!
-My final highlight to share with you is the anchor for the space. You guessed it… it’s the chandelier! The chandelier says
farmhouse, but compliments all the elements of the space.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of this home. Check back next week when I take you on a tour of another fun project!
