Highlights in decor:
-The beautiful rock detail seen in this space gave me the inspiration to use blue. The rock detail holds a blue shade allowing for blue accents which in turn lend to a cohesive design.
-I used several textured
pillows and a fun blanket to add some pizzazz to the subtle neutral sofa.
-I used different side tables. Most people use matching ones, but the complimenting ones I used are unexpected and work well in this space. I don’t want to be too matchy-matchy!
-Isn’t the glass and wooden coffee table great? The thick wooden pedestal the glass sits on adds some weight to the airy feel of the space while the glass top balances out the bold wooden element.
-I incorporated a light blue rug which anchors the light, airy space. The carpet has specks of the neutral colors seen throughout the space so it is perfect for the sitting area.
-The grand mantle with a built in mirror was already so beautiful so I just added a mirror and pictures in frames with clean lines. That is all this mantle needed!
-I added sconces to both sides of the mantle. They add mood lighting while incorporating small ornate details.
-Because this room has such clean lines I used subtle wooden wall decor in keeping with the style of this home.
-Because this room has travertine floors I was able to incorporate wooden elements throughout the space easily. I love wood floors, but these floors are elegant and not having wood floors allowed me to use rich wood decor.
