A Fresh Take on Farmhouse Industrial
This living room needed some sprucing up. Now it depicts the style and spirit of my client. It has touches of farmhouse and a nod to industrial. How could you incorporate some of this room’s details and take YOUR space from stuck to stylish?
Highlights in decor:
-The rug is a diamond pattern and the pillows and lamp shades are striped. Can you mix these patterns? Absolutely! The colors in the pillows pull in the gray of the rug, and the browns in the lampshades echo the wood tones. Mixing patterns is always on trend.
-Notice the side tables do not match–on purpose. Not matching adds interest and says, “This was intentional. I didn’t go down to the store and pick out this SET.”
-The gallery wall behind the sofa provides a background that draws the eye. The square mirror is offset by the round clocks.
-The wood decor in the room was selected not to match, but to go together. The look we were going for was a little rustic and a little industrial, and the different wood elements speak to that. There is contrast, but there is cohesion.
